insurance market has targeted
property risks where the cladding

expanded polystyrene sandwich
panels (EPS). Around the globe
insurers have experienced major
fire losses where the existence of
EPS materials in construction has
apparently made it exceedingly
difficult for the fire services to
control the blaze.
The insurers’ response has been
blunt. They have, almost
universally, increased pricing well
beyond the already increasing base
prices for property insurance.
